Kunal Khemu is not a household name in Bollywood, but at one time was a regular of the Bhatt camp in movies like 'Kalyug'. One of his more underrated performances was 'Superstar', a movie that actually played with the concept of dopplegangers (or humshakals) within the Bollywood industry itself.

Using the idea of stunt double, 'Superstar' was the story of how a wanna be actor, resembling a lot like a spoiled superstar, gets hired to perform for him as a stunt man, but ultimately starts taking over even the dramatic scenes of the movie. The unproven Khemu, himself a novice in the industry at the time, had to portray a famous movie star, squandering his image with partying and girls, while also playing the opposite as a humble and starved junior artist.

It was an interesting movie that was quite the twist on the usual doppleganger Bollywood movie. Unfortunately, its Box Office was nowhere good enough for anyone to take notice the film, or Khemu's performance.
