Kangana Ranaut in 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'
Kangana Ranaut may be oversaturated in the headlines today due to personal issues and her incredibly mouthing off abilities, but her career definitely has taken an uptick. One of her first critically appreciated performances was in the quirky romantic comedy 'Tanu Weds Manu'. The sequel doubled the work load for her, as she played a dual role of dopplegangers in 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'
Ranaut reprised her role as the brash and outspoken titular character from the first movie, but with harsher edges and a lot more baggage. This time around, Ranaut also portrayed a character the complete opposite and younger, as a school girl who is timid and rural. It was pretty incredible, while not as excessive as Shahrukh Khan in 'Fan'. The movie works as a love triangle, with Ranaut's characters competing against one another.
While the movie didn't do anything for the box office, critics appreciated Ranaut's dual turn and her ability to portray different people in the same story.
