The exclusive and most nitpicky of Khans in Bollywood surprised everyone when he agreed to be part of a fluff movie franchise thetas more style than substance. The actor's actor, Aamir Khannot only agreed, but even played the role of the villain in 'Dhoom 3'. So not the kind of jam he's usually associated with.

So of course when Aamir Khan is involved, the franchise leads, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra get the shaft when it comes to any sort of significance in the story. The movie was appreciated by most, (as much as a movie like this can be) especially as the 2nd half revealed him to part of a pair, playing the role of twin brothers; one cunning and the other a little emotionally challenged.

Aamir Khan was awesome in both roles, with drastic differences in characterization. While the simpler brother was idealistic and naive, the other was almost borderline a grey character. It was one of the rarer times that Khan was part of a commercial blockbuster, complete with motorcycles and explosions!
