'MR. INDIA' (1987)

Considered to be one of the first ever Science Fiction films of India, 'Mr. India' can also be considered to be India's first superhero film. The story is about a street musician double timing as a guardian of an orphanage having trouble making ends meet. While struggling to provide for the many orphans under his care, the eternally optimistic musician comes across an incredible device left by his scientist father that allows him to solve all his problems. Eventually crossing paths with one of the world's greatest villains, this unlikely hero must save the day.

While 'Krrish' was the first conventional Bollywood superhero film, 'Mr. India' had all the makings of a superhero film of the 80's.
