The film garnered polarized reception from critics. Praise was aimed at the casts performance and Marc Koninckxs cinematography, while its screenplay and soundtrack received negative reception. On a postive note, The Economic Times lauded the film giving it 4½ stars out of 5 and writing that the film is pretty much the most engaging and authentic sequel to come out of Bollywood in recent times.
