Just a day ago, we had reported about Vidya Balan donning the roles of some iconic historic women in her upcoming period drama Begum Jaan. However, the actress ran into a tad bit of trouble whilst shooting a horse riding sequence for the film.
It so happened, that Vidya Balan was shooting a Razia Sultan scene for the film and the horse was a little frisky. Hence despite the horse riding lessons that the actress underwent, Vidya slipped off. Director of the film, Srijit Mukerji revealed details of the incident and added that the saddle had slipped but the actress continued to shoot. He also further mentioned that though he had given her the option of a body double, Vidya refused and wanted to complete the shot by herself.
Begum Jaan is a remake of the Bengali period drama Rajkahini which revolves around the fight of 11 women living in a brothel that is located in the LOC of India-Pakistan. Produced by Vishesh Films in association with Play Entertainment, the remake also stars Gauahar Khan, Pallavi Sharda, Ila Arun among others.
