Unknown assailants shoot the famous qawwali singer Amjad Sabri

Today, the famous qawwali singer Amjad Sabri (of the famous Sabri Brothers fame), was shot dead by unknown assailants near Laiqatabad flyover in Karachi, Pakistan. The incident occurred when Amjad Sabri was going for a recording in the car alongwith his brother and driver, both of whom got injured in the firing. Amjad Sabri succumbed to his injuries while getting treatment in Abbasi Shaheed hospital in Pakistan.

Readers may recall that Amjad Sabri was in the news during the release of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, over the copyright issue of Bhar Do Jholi track. In Bollywood, Sabri Brothers made their presence felt in films like Pardes, Uff Yeh Mohabbat, Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa amongst others.
