Sonal Sehgal writes short film Others directed by Pradeep Sarkar

Sonal Sehgal, who debuted with Nagesh Kuknoors Aashayein, and was last seen in Future To Bright Haiji has turned script writer. She has penned a script for a short film directed by Pradeep Sarkar. The film, titled Others is about empowering the third gender. It not only exposes the plight of the third gender but sheds a light on a change coming, a new law and a new beginning for the transgenders.

The short film has received an amazing response and has gone viral on the Internet. Few know that Sonal used to assist Pradeep Sarkar and considers him her mentor. How come writing? Well, says Sonal, "I started out as a copywriter for some leading advertising agencies and then ventured into acting. So its just like coming a full circle."
