She may be riding high on the win at this year s prestigious National Awards for her Marathi film Ventilator and it has only boosted the never-dying spirit of Priyanka Chopra to move forward with her Purple Pebble Pictures. While she is yet to return to Bollywood, the actress will take the reach of her regional production house into the bylanes of Bengal with her upcoming projects.
Reportedly, Priyanka Chopra is all set to produce two Bengali films, namely, Brishtir Oppekhayy (Waiting for the Rains) and Bus Stop E Keu Nei (No One Is At The Bus Stop). While the details and genre of the film is still being kept under wraps, we hear that it will have a mix of Bengali actors as well as Bollywood actors with Bengali origin.
Excited about the new developments, Priyanka s mother Madhu Chopra maintained that their company s aim has always been to promote regional cinema and Priyanka has always strived to bring about good stories to the audience. She has been keen on telling tales related to local culture yet have a global appeal. However, as far as the Bengali films are concerned, she added that it is still in talks and in the initial stage.
