No birthday celebrations for Jaya Bachchan

It was a subdued birthday for the amazing Jaya Bachchan who quietly turned 69 on Sunday. The bereaved Bachchan family has resolved to avoid all celebration.

Because of Aishwarya s father demise, there was no celebration, no party, not even a family get-together. Aishwarya is in her native town Mangalore with Aaradhya for a post-bereavement ritual. Jaya was in Delhi, while Amitji is unwell in Mumbai. Abhishek has joined Aishwarya in Mangalore. So it was a very subdued birthday this time for Jayaji with the family scattered in different cities, informs a family friend.

As she was in Delhi Jaya spent some time with her daughter Shweta s in-laws. She likes her alone time away from everyone, just reading walking and gardening, says a family friend.
