Farhan Akhtar to form a band in jail for Lucknow Central

Farhan Akhtar‘s last film Rock On 2 may have bombed at the box office as it came just at the same as the demonetization move in the country, but the musical journey is still continuing with his next film. One of the projects that has been delayed is Nikhil Advani’s Lucknow Central which couldn’t find its lead actress.

As we had reported earlier that Lucknow Central will follow the story of a few jail inmates who rekindle their love for music and form a band in jail. According to a leading daily, the first schedule kicked off on January 10. The makers have replicated the Lucknow Central jail in Filmcity, Mumbai. A source said that eighty percent of the film is set in this jail. So, it was very important for the makers to make it look convincing. The shooting for the film has begun and the cast is currently shooting the introductory sequences and smaller portions of gang wars that happen inside the jail.

Then, there is Farhan Akhtar’s character that is looking to find the inmates passionate about music to form a band.

Lucknow Central will be a directorial debut of Ranjit Tiwari. It will also star Diana Penty, Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal, Inaamulhaq and Manav Vij.
