Disha Patanis role revealed in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story

We know that Sushant Singh Rajput will be portraying the character of Indian Cricket team captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, in Neeraj Pandeys upcoming film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. Newcomer Disha Patani was speculated to play MS Dhonis wife Sakshi Singh Rawat in the film. But, the rumours are not true.

Disha Patani will be portraying the character of MS Dhonis ex-girlfriend. MS Dhoni was in his early 20s when he was prepping himself to get a place in India XI. Right around that time, he met this girl named Priyanka Jha and fell in love with her. Soon after that, MS Dhoni was selected for the Zimbabwe-Pakistan-Kenya tour in 2003-2004. Dhoni helped India chase down 223 with a half-century, following up with consecutive centuries. He scored 362 runs in six innings in the tri-nation tournament.

While MS Dhoni had caught everyones attention especially captain Sourav Ganguly, he faced a tragedy during that phase. When he returned home after the tournament, he learned that his girlfriend Priyanka Jha had met with an accident and couldnt survive the injuries. This news broke him completely and he was in mourning for a year. Everyone thought MS Dhoni would just fall apart but he bounced back and since then there is no stopping him. He found love again in Sakshi Singh Rawat and they are proud parents of a baby girl, Ziva.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story will focus on the chapters of the captains life and struggles he went through to get a spot in Indian Cricket team. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story also stars Kiara Advani as Sakshi Singh Rawat and the film opens in theatres on September 30.
