Dia Mirza to play Manyata Dutt in Sanjay Dutt biopic

Despite the fact that the Sanjay Dutt biopic was announced more than a year ago, it is only recently that the filming of the film kick started on full swing. On the first day of the shoot, we were surprised to see Dia Mirza, who has been away from the big screen for a while.

Later we heard that the actress is a part of the film and it is now we hear that her role is extremely crucial to the film too. Dia will be seen in the role of Sanjay Dutt s current wife Manyata Dutt. Yes, this will be the first time where the actress will not only be a part of a biopic but she will also be paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor for the first time. Producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra made the announcement recently, confirming the news at a film festival.

On the other hand, Manyata Dutt was a former actress-model, born and brought up in Dubai who married Sanjay Dutt in the year 2008 in a private ceremony in Goa. The couple are parents of twins, Iqra and Shehraan.

Manyata Dutt has played a pivotal role in Sanjay Dutt s life and has been handling his production house and his other work commitments when the latter was serving his jail term.

Besides Dia and Ranbir, the film also stars Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt and Sonam Kapoor as yet another love interest of Ranbir. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanjay Dutt biopic is slated for a Christmas 2017 release.
