Yesterday night Salman Khan accompanied by his sister Alvira arrived in Jodhpur for the hearing of his 18 year old case of killing black bucks. Earlier Salman had pleaded Not Guilty to the charges of violating the law by keeping unlicensed weapons and using them. Salman Khan had earlier been acquitted by the Rajasthan High Court in two cases related to the killing of endangered chinkara deer. However, that verdict had been challenged by the state government before the Supreme Court.
Now we hear that the Jodhpur Court has acquitted the actor in relation to the cases of poaching of endangered antelopes under Wildlife (Protection) Act, and a case under sections 3/25 and 3/27 of the Arms Act that was filed against Khan for allegedly keeping and using the fire arms with expired license in the poaching of blackbucks in Kankani near Jodhpur.
For the uninitiated, the said case involves the killing of deer allegedly when Salman Khan and his co-stars, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu, were shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain in the forests near Jodhpur in 1998.
