If you have been keeping tabs on the news, youd probably know that Anurag Kashyaps film Udta Punjab is facing a lot of problems. The films story focuses on the drug problems among the youth of Punjab and also has abusive language. Due to this, Censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani and high authorities from the government ordered several cuts including the removal of references of Punjab from the film and the title. This didnt go well with the co-producer Anurag Kashyap and tweeted his anger against CBFC.
Today, we reported that Censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of taking a bribe from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to show Punjab in a bad light and topple with BJP government. At the press conference held today, Anurag rubbished all the accusations made by Pahlaj Nihalani and said that he doesnt need to defend himself.
The news travelled to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal who has been very actively supporting Udta Punjab and that it should not be censored. He didnt take any time to address the accusations made by Pahlaj Nihalani on his political party and took a dig at him and BJP instead. He took to his twitter account and wrote, "Pahlaj Nihlanis statement makes it amply clear that he has stopped the film on BJPs instructions."
Well, this controversy is not going to stop.
