Anurag Kashyap revives the Manmarziyan script

In 2016, it was reported that Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar will once again star together as a pair for a film named Manmarziyan. Produced by Aanand L Rai, the film had gone on floors and it was shot for a week in Shimla.

But, things took a drastic turn when Aanand L Rai watched some rushes of the film and did not approve it. Even though the next schedule was decided as Amritsar, Aanand who was unhappy with the rushes had shelved the film. It seemed like the film was completely jinxed.

But, we have now learned that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has taken over the project and is reviving it. According to a source, Anurag has rewritten the entire script of the film and is planning to cast new faces for the film. The auditions have started for the same. The source also revealed that the movie will be on the lines of 2016’s biggest Marathi film Sairat.

Earlier, Manmarziyan was to be directed by Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurrana director Sameer Sharma. Then, due to some reasons Nil Battey Sannata director, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari had come on board.

We had reported earlier that Aanand L Rai had roped in Anurag Kashyap to direct two films under his banner Colour Yellow Productions. However, the projects were unknown at the time. Now, it seems like Anurag has started working on Manmarziyan first.
