Amitabh Bachchan advocates for women rights on television

He played a lawyer advocating for women rights in Pink that went on to win National Award this year. Now doing the same in real life, Amitabh Bachchan recently shot for a promo of TV show which was released recently.

Star Plus show Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka , which is inspired by the Turkish drama Fatmagul , features Pankhuri Awasthy in a lead role. The promo features Amitabh questioning the hypocritical standards of society as victim shaming rape survivors. The show deals with the topic of gang rape and the societal pressures the survivor faces after the case becomes a talk of the town.

Reportedly, the show is an important part of the Nayi Soch campaign kick started by the channel. Besides the megastar, other superstars associated with the same include Aamir Khan as well as Shah Rukh Khan.
