If Hansal Mehta had hoped that his quietly powerful saga of a homophobic civilization and one individuals fight for privacy would get a free window at the box office this Friday, here is unexpected news.
Viacom 18 has just cut a deal with the Lionsgate production company for the Indian marketing rights one of the biggest Hollywood spectacles of 2016. The 140-million dollar budgeted Gods Of Egypt is all set to be released in India on February 26 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The film stars Gerard Butler as Set, the God Of Darkness.
For those who are fans of Gerard Butler and his epic film 300, Gods Of Egypt promises to up the bar a few notches with its sheer scale and breathtaking visual effects. Gerard will once again be seen wielding the sword and donning the cape as he brings to life the God of Darkness Set.
The story witnesses Set (Gerard) and the powerful Lord of Air Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) at war. The film further transports the audiences into the exotic world of Egyptian mythology ? Gargantuan monsters, giant serpents and a spectacular battle of the gods leaves the survival of mankind hanging in the balance.
Gerard Butler further elaborated saying, "Set is so incredibly dangerous, he is so incredibly angry and yet he is composed. Hes a weapon personified and its not always in his power and yet he has incredible power."
The sudden release of this epic spectacle puts a question mark before the small out-of-the-box Hindi releases next Friday, namely Hansal Mehtas Aligarh and Abhishek Sharmas Tere Bin Laden Dead Or Alive.
