'Pari' (March 2)
Anushka Sharma's first two home productions have been incredibly innovative and completely unlike the typical Bollywood films. Both 'NH-10' and 'Phillauri' impressed audiences and critics with their original stories and completely new takes on the usual Indian stories. Sharma continues this with a new movie set in a totally different genre.
'Pari' looks to be a completely supernatural horror film, with Anushka Sharma looking grotesque and pretty damn scary scary. 'Pari' is one of Bollywood's newest horror films, and one that looks fresh and unique. The trailers don't reveal much about the story of the film much, as we're only treated to two different versions of Sharma's characters; one normal, while the other is bruised and battered, possibly a ghost or spirit?
'Pari' is directed by Prosit Roy, who was associate director on another Bollywood horror, 'Ek Thi Daayan', as well as Sharma's other production 'Phillauri'. It's nice to see that Sharma is promoting in-house talent within her company, instead of hiring from outside.
'Pari' also stars Parabrambata Chatterjee ('Kahaani') and Rajat Kapoor ('Kapoor And Sons') who looks like never before in the brief glimpse we get of him.
