The first movie under her banner was 'NH-10', a riveting action thriller where Sharma played a victim of a highway attack, where she had to fight and claw her way to save herself. It was a brutal depiction that Sharma played to perfection. Sharma wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty in a role that is usually seen portrayed by male stars.

Here's hoping that these Bollywood actresses pave the way for more stars to do new and exciting roles that aren't restricted based on gender. While women led films are now beocming the norm, it's about high time that the gender of the protagonist doesn't always drive the genre or premise of the film.
