'Aryan' (2006)

One movie that is lesser known among this list, is 'Aryan', a boxing movie with a huge focus on the love story elements of the story. This movie is almost like 'Rocky 2', in its themes of the emotional angst of a boxer, and how it affects his relationships.

Salman Khan's younger brother Sohail Khan continues his acting attempts in this film, playing a boxer who gives it up for his love and eventual marriage. However, circumstances force him back in the ring, causing immense strain on his marriage and life over all.

'Aryan' is a totally different boxing movie that hasn't been seen in Bollywood before. It's one that showcases the effects of the sport on relationships and marriage. How a fighter is unable to function and how the aggression that found an outlet in the ring, can flow outwards into other avenues of their lives in more unhealthy ways. The film slightly touches on spousal abuse as well, without going too deep into it.

The insular and niche themes of the film made it not connect to audiences, and the 'Aryan' was deemed a failure.
