Rangoon to have a special screening for the Armed Forces

Ever since the time Rangoon has been announced, it has been making news for many reasons. Firstly, because the film boasts of a casting coup of sorts in the form of Saif Ali Khan, Kangna Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor, all of them coming together for the first time. Secondly, it was because of the film s premise, which happens to be the backdrop of World War II.

Since Rangoon has been set against the backdrop of World War II, the makers of the film thought that it was only justified for them to have a special screening of the film arranged for the Armed Forces. Reports state that the special show of the film for the Armed Forces will be held over the next few days.

As for the characterisation, Rangoon will see Shahid Kapoor playing the role of a soldier with an extremely strong sense of duty and a big patriot. The film will see the struggles which his character faces during the difficult times of the war. On the other hand, Kangna Ranaut will be seen playing the role of a 1940 s action diva called Jaanbaaz Miss Julia. She will be seen playing a very raunchy action heroine in a film called Toofan ki Beti. Readers may recall that, the feisty Kangna Ranaut had recently attended an interactive day with the jawans at the BSF camp in Jammu.

As a part of the film promotions, one could see the trio of Saif Ali Khan, Kangna Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor doing their bit as much as possible by attending reality shows and even The Kapil Sharma Show . Only yesterday, the audiences saw Saif Ali Khan and Kangna Ranaut together on the widely popular Koffee With Karan .

While Rangoon has been directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film is scheduled for release on February 24 this year.
