Publicity overdrive: Director denies Diljit Dosanjh s presence in Akshay Kumar starrer

The proposed historical directed by Anurag Singh will bring together Salman Khan and Karan Johar as co-producers and will star Akshay Kumar. That is all that s been decided about the project. To the embarrassment of the entire team, reports have been planted into sections of the media about Diljit Dosanjh being part of the film.

Says a source very close to the team, This is purely conjectural and unfounded. No one has been signed except Akshay Kumar for this project. We are yet to take a call about the rest of the cast. But planting Diljit s name into our heads is not going to help his cause. And why does his team need to do all this? Diljit is such a big star in Punjab. Desperate remedies to get attention in Bollywood make him look small.

According to another source Diljit is being wrongly advised by his team. They probably thought this was a logical since Diljit is very close to director Anurag Singh and the two have collaborated on several hit Punjabi films. But it doesn t follow that Diljit has to be in everything that Anurag makes. Diljit should calm down his marketing team. This report not only suggests he is teaming up with Akshay but also Salman Khan. Contrary to reports Salman is not playing a cameo in this film. Diljit Dosanjh s team is misguiding his estimated power in Bollywood.
