'Kuch Bheege Alfaaz' (February 16. India)
The latest offering from critically acclaimed director Onir, is a more straight forward movie from him than we're used to. But still equally charming and dramatic.
The trailer for 'Kuch Bheege Alfaaz' looks incredibly fresh and new. The love story that develops over phones and instant messaging feels very much like a modern day 'Sleepless In Seattle' or 'You've Got Mail'; a love story where the two leads never meet, but rather become attracted to one another through conversations alone.
Onir, known mostly for his films dealing with homosexuality or intense emotional thrillers, seems to have changed gears into something a lot more lighthearted and more romantic than his previous films. The stars, mostly newcomers, seem most impressive even from the brief trailer.
