With a career in the Indian Film Industry more so than Bollywood, Das is an accomplished actress and filmmaker. Her storied career has seen her win multiple awards, been involved in films that have won awards at international film festivals, worked with directors from all over the world in movies spanning multiple languages and has even been on the jury of the Cannes International Film Festival. Twice!

From Das' career, it can be ascertained that she mostly does smaller independent and art house films. Casual audiences will recognize her from films such as 'Earth', 'Fire' or 'Bas Yun Hi'. But even those movies skew more to the arthouse or obscure category than mainstream commercial.

While Das is older than Shraddha Kapoor to play the younger moments of 'Haseena Parkar', the actress still looks as stunning today as she did 10 years ago, so that really wouldn't have been an issue. Especially when we have 50 year old Bollywood actors running around playing teenagers.
