Shraddha Kapoor's latest film is all about a woman gangster that ruled the Indian city of Mumbai. Based on true incidents, the film is a fictional biopic about a very real life person. Therefore you would assume that the makers would cast an actor that looks somewhat like the person the film is based on.
While technology and prosthetics definitely add to the authenticity of a performance, casting an actress that doesn't even match the skin tone, which has to be artificially darkened to seem genuine, feel unnecessarily pointless.
The titular actress, Shraddha Kapoor hasn't been in Bollywood long enough, or proven herself to even be able to carry a film on her own, much less such a dramatic film in a role that's unlike anything she's done before. While on the other hand, there are loads of other more qualified actresses, with critically acclaimed performances on their back, who would've made a better 'Haseena Parkar' than Shraddha Kapoor.
