120 Bahadur

During 1962, rising tensions between India and China escalate in the icy heights of Ladakh.Major Shaitan Singh Bhati (Farhan Akhtar), takes command of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment — a battalion of 120 determined Ahir soldiers. His loving yet anxious wife, Shagun Kanwar (Raashii Khanna), prays for his safe return even as she understands the sacrifices that lie ahead.Under Shaitan Singh, the unit is led by experienced officers including Lieutenant Colonel H.S.

Dhingra (Eijaz Khan), the regiment’s commanding officer, and Brigadier T.N.Raina (Ajinkya Deo), who oversees the larger 144 Mountain Brigade. The regiment also includes close-knit soldiers in their daily routines: Ramlal (Ankit Siwach), the cheerful and spirited rifleman; the respected Jemadar Surja Ram (Vivan Bhatena) and Jemadar Hariram Singh (Dhanveer Singh), both steady and seasoned leaders; the dedicated radio operator Ramchander Yadav (Sparsh Walia), and the young Nanha (Sahib Verma), who dreams of glory but fears the war ahead. As winter closes in and Chinese forces begin massing along the border, Charlie Company is sent to hold Rezang La — an exposed, freezing mountain pass with no artillery support.

Major Shaitan Singh strengthens positions, assigning Jemadar Saab (Digvijay Pratap) and others to forward firing posts, while Sepoys Nihal Singh (Atul Singh) and Dharampal Dahiya (Ashutosh Shukla) help fortify machine gun nests.Ramlal, Jairam “Kaka” (Brijesh Karanwal), and Baingan (Devendra Ahirwar) share moments of lighthearted banter, hiding their fear behind humor. At headquarters, Brigadier Raina and Lt.Col.Dhingra do what they can, but both reveal the grim truth — the men will have to hold on their own until support arrives, if it ever does.

The Chinese attack begins before dawn in a terrifying bombardment.Waves of enemy infantry crash upon the Indian posts in the freezing darkness.Major Shaitan Singh moves tirelessly across positions, encouraging his soldiers even under fire.Jemadar Surja Ram and Hariram Singh lead their platoons with discipline, holding back vastly larger forces.Young Nanha experiences the horrors of battle for the first time.

Sepoy Ramchander Yadav, operating the communications set, becomes the lifeline between the battlefield and headquarters, relaying Shaitan Singh’s updates even as shells burst around him.Nihal Singh, Dharampal Dahiya, Baingan, and others fight with fierce resolve, refusing to abandon their ground despite mounting casualties.By midday the battlefield becomes a last stand.Ammunition runs low, casualties rise, and the Chinese attacks only intensify.Jemadar Saab and several men fall while repelling a close assault.

Major Shaitan Singh is critically wounded while moving between posts, but orders his men not to risk their lives retrieving him.Ramchander Yadav continues transmitting messages until the radio is destroyed, after which he fights alongside the remaining soldiers. One by one, the small platoons are overrun, but none of the 120 retreat. The soldiers of Charlie Company die on their positions, rifles in hand, fulfilling their oath to hold Rezang La at any cost.In the emotional aftermath, the few survivors, including Ramchander Yadav and Nihal Singh, recount the battle to commanders.

Brigadier Raina and Lt.Col.Dhingra are shaken by the scale of the sacrifice.Major Shaitan Singh succumbs to his wounds and is later awarded the Param Vir Chakra, while several soldiers receive honors posthumously. The final scenes show families receiving the news — Shaitan Singh’s wife, and others, holding back tears but proud of their loved ones.

120 Bahadur closes with a tribute to all 120 soldiers who turned Rezang La into a symbol of unmatched courage, duty, and national pride.
