'Begum Jaan'
Remake of the Bengali film 'Rajkahini', Vidya Balan plays a Madam of a brothel during 1947 India in the partition. While not much is known of the film, the premise is very intriguing. Many films have centered around women displaced in brothels during time of war, such as the Christian Bale starring 'Flowers Of War'. The stories almost always are tragic, endearing, and deal with women's issues. 'Begum Jaan' sounds like it's no different.

Vidya Balan & Gauhar Khan in 'Begum Jaan'
With an actress of Balan's calibre associated with the film, along with the original director Srijit Mukherjee directing as well, this movie is definitely an interesting one. Only concern is with the film being produced by Vishesh Films, known for only going skin deep with issue based stories and depicting only the shallow-est of circumstances.
